The Philippine Embassy in Canada joins the nation in the observance of Maritime and Archipelagic Nation Awareness Month (MANA Mo), which has the theme “Nagkakaisang Kapuluan, Panatag na Karagatan”.
This year’s celebration underscores the importance of national unity and a secure maritime environment in safeguarding the country’s future. The following key objectives guide the observance of MANA Mo 2025:
- Raise awareness and appreciation of the Philippines’ maritime and archipelagic nature.
- Foster a collective sense of pride and responsibility in preserving the country’s maritime heritage.
- Encourage active participation from all Filipinos towards a sustainable and secure ocean economy.
MANA Mo is celebrated annually in September, pursuant to Presidential Proclamation No. 316, s. 2017, to recognize the Philippines’ vital role as an archipelagic nation and to highlight the importance of its vast maritime resources.
Through this observance, the Embassy calls on all Filipinos in Canada to join efforts in promoting the preservation and protection of the Philippines’ maritime heritage, while also strengthening global cooperation for a sustainable and secure ocean future. Let us unite in safeguarding the country’s seas and oceans for future generations.
